To Hell With Anything?

[An except from the curious incident of the dog in the night-time]

Mrs. Forbes said that hating yellow and brown is just being silly. And Siobhan said she shouldn’t say things like that and everyone has favorite colors. And Siobhan was right. But Mrs. Forbes was a bit right, too. Because it is sort of being silly. But in life you have to take lots of decisions and if you don’t take decisions you would never do anything because you would spend all your time choosing between things you could do. So its good to have a reason why you hate some things and you like others. It is like being in a restaurant like when father takes me out to a Berni Inn sometimes and you look at the menu and you have to choose what you are going to have. But you don’t know if you are going to like something because you haven’t tasted it yet, so you have favorite foods and you choose these, and you have foods you don’t like and you don’t choose these, and then it is simple.

Singapore’s probably the only place you can sell cheesy can drinks such as “Anything” and “Whatever” but still make a sale of 3.5 millions cans on its 1st month. How can you decide between moral standards when you cannot even decide on your choice of drink? May God flip a coin to decide when you enter the Pearly Gates or not.

Perhaps by not choosing heaven, you have already chosen hell.

Haha, that’s coz i get every frustrated everytime when i address something spiritual, the answers i get are whatever and anything.

    eg.
Do you wanna be a Cl? .. anything
Where to you want your group to serve as? …. anything.

  3. just after i read this post, my mum asked if i wanted to have my lunch now or later. a few seconds later, i gave her an abrupt reply, “sui bian (anything)”.

it substantiated my understanding of your post, haha.

  4. Xanthe? Im sure you fully understand it. Its just more of the application…. Haha.

  5. Hmm… I guess when it comes to matters of the kingdom, it is harder to decide as one may not know what is God’s best plan for us?
When people say anything to e.g. being a CL, perhaps they are uncertain. Not because they don’t want to serve God at a deeper level but due to the worry that they might not be up to the challenge, makes them apprehensive about serving as a CL.
But when given the choice, I guess we must really sit down, evaluate & weigh the options… e.g. when the time comes to move on or to continue serving in your current ministry…

  6. Nick-

There is a difference between “Allow me some time to think thru and give u an answer.” and “Anything”.

The question might be hard to decide like what you have said, but the answer must still be given, and the answer must be a definite one. Not a wishy washy type.

    There is no excuse.

  7. hahaz, maybe you should communicate to your people that expectation then: To be firm about what they decide to do. :)
