Would you rather lose your ability to hear, to see or to speak?

  1. I’d rather lose my ability to speak. It would probably do me more good than ill.

  2. mate that is really hard

but if i really had to pick one. the ability to see… i think i’m going a bit blind anyways…

i think i can still do the majority of things i know i’m meant to do (with an increase in difficulty, of course =p) even if i can’t see. it will be a pain though!

man, makes you grateful for what you have, doesn’t it?

    what abt you zachy?

  3. perhaps i’d choose speak, because without speech i still can write, but without eyes cannot write. Without ears cannot hear what people say, or expressions in the heart through variations of tone

  4. i would say speech. Because in this day and age there are many other ways to communicate to others.

sign language, writing, computers, body language, facial expressions.

Without sight you wouldnt be able to see the many wonderous things God has created and without sound you wouldnt be able to hear what you are speaking so your speech would be impaired anyways.

but if above all i would choose to loose none.

  5. i would say sight because it would cause me to stop judging people according to looks - but that is naive, and not wise.
so for practicality’s sake, i would be most fine with losing my speech. because what it would be a great avenue for me to practice instead of preaching.
i wouldn’t want to lose my hearing because.. i like music

  6. I would say sight because for the fact that speech and hearing comes together, one cannot work without another. And it is important to be able to share the truth to pple who have yet to hear them. Hence, losing sight is alrite, nothing about blind faith, but abt yes you are blind but with great faith being shown! hah.

  7. What a commotion over common sense(s)!

    Pistolpete-
Hey, I’ve never seen it in that light before. Wonderful perspective on your part!

    Chris-
Yea, this post was typed with the intention of making people appreciate their senses… I think we normally take these for granted. I guess i would lost my speech. At the rate I’m sprouting nonsense, i think it would do me more good then harm. =)

But i think i would really never be able to empathize with the blind, the mute and the deaf… I cant even begin to imagine..

    Alvern & Justin-
seems like technology is mute-biased eh?

    Lauranne-
wow. choosing to lose sight is one of the hardest things to do. That’s one of the things i fear most as well. But you make me wonder, is having judgmental eyes worse of then the blind?

    Joallisonagnes-
Haha, blind faith is a rarity nowadays.
