There have been considerable amounts of hype concerning New Year resolutions as we step into 2008. Some resolved to set fewer resolutions and accomplish them; some others just gave up altogether. Reasons cited was that since resolutions are seldom fulfilled, or in their cases, never. They decided to might as well skip the process altogether.

That’s a load of balderdash to me.

Failure may not be as tasteful as success, but aimlessness may be even more bitter then the former. I rather fail my resolutions for an entire lifetime then drift aimlessly for a year; at least I know how far I am away from my destination.

This is the just the coward’s way of escaping failure – by prohibiting success.
